Job Opportunity - Preclinical Studies Coordinator


  • Exciting role based at the Stratford-upon-Avon Head Office and Laboratory
  • Managing preclinical studies for cell and gene therapies in the Celixir pipeline
  • Discovering new cell and gene therapies and designing appropriate proof-of-concept and preclinical studies

Role requirements


  • Bioscience degree (e.g. cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or immunology)
  • Bioscience PhD
  • At least 2 years post doc experience in academia or industry
  • Experience with cell culture
  • Ability to execute projects with challenging timelines and within budgets
  • Adaptable to changing priorities
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office package
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised and good time management
  • Good attention to detail
  • Highly motivated
  • Willingness to work in Stratford-upon-Avon


  • Multiple scientific publications and/or patent applications
  • Experience with gene editing (e.g. using CRISPR)
  • Experience working with animal models of disease
  • Experience with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Experience with drug and pharmaceutical development
  • Good understanding of oncology and immuno-oncology

Responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Lead/manage preclinical research projects
  • Discovery and development of new cell and gene therapies
  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments
  • Manage preclinical animal experiments
  • Manage and advise Lead Scientists and Laboratory Technicians
  • Report directly to Global Heads of Discovery Science and Research (both working remotely)
  • Work closely with the Global Head of Regulatory Affairs and Regulatory and Clinical Teams to prepare preclinical packages
  • Support Finance and other Celixir departments as required
